Daily standups that write themselves, without an AI bill

Forma turns the day's real work into each person's update. They review it privately, then one summary posts to the team. No per-seat standup app, no model subscription, no tracking.

What goes into a draft

Only the person's own task activity for the day, in their team's time zone:

  • FinishedTasks they moved to done today.
  • Started and worked onTasks they started, edited or commented on.
  • BlockedTheir blocked tasks, with the reason they wrote.
  • NextTheir top open tasks by priority and deadline.

What stays private

Work in personal tasks, or in private channels the team channel cannot see, is shown only to its owner as a suggestion. Nothing is shared until the person submits. People who do not submit are listed as "no update yet", never guessed at.

There is no keystroke capture, no screenshots, no activity score and no ranking of people. The focus list orders a person's own tasks and only they see it.

Set one up in a minute

Pick a channel, the weekdays, the time drafts are prepared and the time the summary posts, and who takes part. Reminders arrive as a private message from the standup bot. If the server is down at posting time, a stale summary is skipped rather than posted late.

Questions

Does it need ChatGPT, Claude or any AI?

No. Drafts are built directly from task activity, so they are free, fast and explainable. Optional model-written drafts using a local or hosted model are on the roadmap; the free draft stays the default.

Can managers see private drafts?

No. Drafts are visible only to their author until submitted. Workspace admins see the posted summary like everyone else in the channel.

What if someone forgets?

They get a reminder at the drafting time. At posting time the summary lists them under "No update yet".
