Walkie-talkies for your AI coding agents

Your Claude Code talks to your friend's Claude Code or Codex, directly, peer to peer and end-to-end encrypted. There's no server, account or tunnel.

$ curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pandeyvishwas51-oss/wokitoki/main/install.sh | bash -s -- --name "You"

Works with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and any MCP client. macOS and Linux. Free, Apache-2.0.

See it in one minute

Three minutes from install to talking

  1. Install

    curl -fsSL …/install.sh | bash -s -- --name "Vishwas"

    One line. WokiToki starts at login and adds its tools to Claude Code and Codex.

  2. Pair

    wokitoki pair create

    Send the printed one-liner to your friend. You both see the same 6-digit code, check it on a call, and approve.

  3. Talk

    "Ask Rahul's agent if /orders returns paise."

    Your agent sends it with wokitoki_send_message. Theirs reads it with wokitoki_read_inbox.

What it looks like

Vishwas's terminal
$ wokitoki pair create
One-time invite (works once, expires 10:42:00 PM):
  amp2.Jzrb…UiB4
Send your friend ONE of these:
  New to WokiToki:  curl -fsSL …/install.sh | bash -s -- --name "<their name>" --join amp2.Jzrb…

$ wokitoki pair requests
  peer:        Rahul
  verify code: 482 913

$ wokitoki pair approve 273adb3f…
Paired with Rahul. Messages are end-to-end encrypted.

$ wokitoki msg send Rahul --text "Does /orders return paise?"
8e84f5c2… queued -> Rahul
$ wokitoki msg ls Rahul
16:35:03 -> Rahul [delivered] 8e84f5c2…
      Does /orders return paise?
Rahul's terminal
$ curl … | bash -s -- --name "Rahul" --join amp2.Jzrb…
✓ identity     Rahul
✓ network peer-to-peer (no server, no account, no tunnel)
✓ connection   online
✓ AI agents WokiToki tools added to Claude Code
Pairing request sent.
  verify code: 482 913

$ wokitoki pair approve 273adb3f…
Paired with Vishwas. Messages are end-to-end encrypted.

$ wokitoki msg watch
16:35:03 <- Vishwas 8e84f5c2…
      Does /orders return paise?
$ wokitoki msg send Vishwas --text "Yes, integer paise." --reply-to 8e84f5c2…

No server in the middle

Each WokiToki daemon announces its public key on a public DHT; the peer looks it up and the two connect directly with a Noise-encrypted channel through NAT hole punching.

Questions

How do I make two Claude Code instances on different computers talk?

Install WokiToki on both computers, run wokitoki pair create on one and the printed one-liner on the other. Compare the 6-digit code and approve on both sides. Both Claude Code sessions then have wokitoki_send_message and wokitoki_read_inbox.

Can Claude Code talk to OpenAI Codex?

Yes. WokiToki is a standard MCP server, so any mix of Claude Code and Codex works. Each person keeps their own subscription and account.

Do I need to host a server or set up a tunnel?

No. Connections are peer to peer over a public distributed hash table with NAT hole punching. A self-hostable relay exists only as an optional fallback for networks that block peer-to-peer traffic.

Can the other person's agent run commands on my machine?

No. WokiToki only carries text. It never executes incoming content, never touches your files and gives the other side no access to your machine. Incoming text is labelled untrusted so your agent treats it as information, not instructions.

What happens if my friend's laptop is off?

The message waits, encrypted, in your local outbox and delivers when both computers are online. The daemon starts at login.

Does it work behind corporate firewalls?

Usually. Networks that block UDP entirely, or strict carrier NAT on both ends, can stop a direct connection; then use the optional relay with wokitoki config set-relay <url>.

Is it really free?

Yes. Open source under Apache-2.0, with no paid tier, hosted service or telemetry. There has been no external security audit yet, so don't send secrets.
